I was dealing with a lot of stress at the time, and nothing was going my way. I know that I was behind on my mortgage, but wasn’t sure how much. I received a phone call from Housing is Your Right, and didn’t think much of it. After speaking with one of their rep’s I soon learned a lot more about my situation. Housing is Your Right was able to connect me with a private source of money that covered my missed payments. Just having a rep to talk to was enough to ease my stress, everything else they helped with was icing on the cake!

I inherited a home from my grandmother about 10 years ago. I moved in, but recently lost my job due to downsizing. I was a few months behind on my mortgage and four years behind on my property taxes. The home which was in my family was now in jeopardy of foreclosure. I was referred by a friend to Housing Is Your Right spoke with a specialist. They coached me on how to talk to my lender and we came to the solution of payment deferral program. They then gave me multiple options to stay in my home, which I chose to sell my home and purchase a duplex in a better neighborhood. I now pay half of what I did before and have a property to pass forward to my future generation.
